The Sport
The discipline started back in 2006 after a year of research and comparison between
Masters Simone Spreafico, Gianluca Longo, and Fabio Monticelli.
Later on, The Founding Masters wanted to test their techniques by facing off against other Masters and Technicians from various martial and fencing disciplines to see how effective and complete they were. LudoSport consists of different forms of armed combat, each with its own unique features. Each form in LudoSport represents a full system of attacks and defences that can be combined with all of the others. The common factor is the weapon, the light saber. It is made up of a polycarbonate tube inside an aluminum handle that produces both light and sound.

The LudoSport International network organizes periodically Educational Paths for the preparation of future Teachers. These paths are generally divided into a Pre-Course (which consists of an overview of the combat Form under examination) and a Standard Course that deepens the didactic aspects. While Pre-Courses can be held by any Instructor, Standard Courses are entrusted exclusively to Tecnici.

Thanks to the serene environment created in each of its structures, LudoSport creates a positive context for promoting and sustaining an ethical culture in sport, involving both its instructors and athletes, creating an atmosphere that stimulates consistent behaviour and respect for all those involved. Thanks to its founding rules, the sport transmits the message of respect in all forms and opportunities. In this way, the sport is always dominated by behaviour based on fair play, sharing and mutual help. The play and sporting sides of the sport offered by LudoSport are favourable to mental and physical well-being, protecting the athletes’ fundamental right to take part in a sport where competition is healthy and not negative for those involved. LudoSport favours and promotes socialising within its structure, both during the sporting activities and also outside of training, creating positive contexts for spending time together and giving everyone a role, regardless of the level of technical preparation they have achieved. The educational value of “merit” is also included in a social value, rewarding personal initiatives that are helpful for members as a whole.
The Learning Path
Taught and practiced progressively, the 7 Forms of Light Saber Combat are consistent with the literary sources, with the adjustments required to be effective in a sports competition. Each Style is complete and can be used against each of the others. Techniques of different Styles can be mixed during the fight without losing effectiveness or safety.

LudoSport in a nutshell...
Safety is the key element of LudoSport, a discipline developed in first place to have fun while practicing. Thrusts are forbidden, face isn't a target and techniques are taught to athletes so that hits on opponent's body land without strength. This is why modern knights don't need armors.With honor, practicioners respect each other by self declararing hits received during combat.
The Target
The full body is a target in LudoSport lightsaber combat.
There is a distinction between non-mortal target (IH pron. ē) and mortal target (OH pron. aw).
IH - NON-"MORTAL" TARGET the hilt of the lightsaber, forearms and legs below the knee.
OH - "MORTAL" TARGET the rest of the body.
We do not target delicate areas such as the face
The fighter who suffers a IH or OH target strike must self declare. In observance of the Se.Cu.Ri principle, each fighter makes sure that his opponent is not hurt, using control that is proportional to his/her level of experience.
